My first lesson with Mona was excellent. She was professional and very enthusiastic. When I had questions she was clear and concise with her explanations. We practiced dialogue and I learned many new vocabulary words. We even had some fun discussing the complex protocol for when someone sneezes. HA! I look forward to our next lesson, inshallah.

Thank you Mona. Every lesson has a 'revelation' for me or in other words, an important piece to a puzzle is found. I hope your other students understand the importance of persistence and consistency. See you soon!

Excellent lesson! Mona really helped me with the most challenging pronunciations and spellings of words with vowels. She is very encouraging and knowledgeable about the culture and variations in language (modern standard, dialects, etc.), and she makes me look forward to learning more!

Wow!!! So much information in just a few pages from the book. I am having a ball with our lessons. The lessons are challenging, yet they are 'do-able'. I am so happy I decided to study Arabic and taking the time and effort to learn how to read, write and speak in Arabic. It will be a long time before I get comfortable, but seeing the continued progress just keeps me wanting to pursue it more. Thank you Mona!

Sooo much fun today, Mona!! Thank you so much for your patience as well. It takes me a little while to get a clue, but I appreciate you not feeding me the answers!! Wonderful!! Wonderful! Wonderful!! See you soon insha' allah!

Another good lesson! We reviewed expressions related to my work history and discussed experiences in school and the role of luck in decision making. Also went over a number of colloquial expressions.

Another good lesson, and as always, Mona was right on time to start. Mainly we discussed the Syrian refugee problem, focusing on a news clip I watched yesterday about Syrians in the Calais camp in France, and the different approaches France and England are taking regarding admitting refugees and the problems those are engendering. We also branched off into the current problems the EU is facing, like Greek debt. AND importantly, we covered active and passive forms of تطور And also, like always, Mona sent me a document containing words and expressions we used during our class.

Enjoyed my lesson with Mona. She is excellent with ensuring my foundation is solid and making sure that I don't have any holes with understanding the basics of the language and its characteristics. Even though I know I am a beginner, this lesson gave me a clearer view of where I am and what type of effort I need to put forth to learn the language so that I can help myself learn more efficiently. I will do what I can on my own and continue to have language partners, however, my style of learning is dependent on the professional teachers for focus, structure and direction. I look forward to my next lesson with Mona, which is less than 24 hours from now. 🙂

Thank you Mona!! This was great! My brain needed to be stretched and challenged. It's funny to see things in a different light. I tend to make things so difficult when they are soooo obvious!! But, that's part of learning. And I really appreciate your support and encouragement and admire your patience!! Great Job, Mona!!

Thank you Mona!! You always figure out what's bugging me and you are able to help me dissect that 'bug' so it's no longer a bug but a friendly tool I can use. Thank you!!!

Another great (and fun) lesson. As usual, Mona was right on time. I gave a brief bio of my life, focused on Arabic learning and work history, and Mona asked me questions like what was the biggest problem I encountered at work, what did I learn over the years of work, etc. Along the way we talked and joked about my invisible dog fence and my wife, the nurse, recommending garlic cloves to cure a cold. In the future we are going to use activities from Boris Shekhtman's الله يرحمه book, a pdf of which I emailed to Mona.
